Role Overview

As Head of Technology, you will oversee the entire technical vision and strategy, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, performant, and scalable games. The role is senior and strategic, often involving close collaboration with studio leadership, product, and creative teams. Your role will span team leadership, product strategy alignment, process optimization, and proactive risk management, ensuring our games exceed industry standards while nurturing a culture of innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Building the Publishing SDK: Plan and implement together with the Analytics team the development of Arcade’s SDK to collect reliable, standardized and actionable insights from our games.

  • Strategic Technical Leadership: Define and implement the long-term technical vision and strategy across multiple projects or the entire studio, aligning technology with business and creative goals.

  • Engineering Excellence & Quality Assurance: Define and enforce programming best practices, workflows, and pipelines. The Head of Tech is responsible for ensuring games are technically sound, meet high-quality standards, and perform optimally across various platforms and devices.

  • Technical Infrastructure & Tools: Oversee the development and maintenance of the technical infrastructure and our internal tools. This also involves managing external technology dependencies and risks.

  • Team Cohesion and Development: Foster a collaborative environment where Developers, and all team members thrive and work seamlessly toward shared objectives.

  • Performance & Optimization: Ensure the final product ships in an excellent technical state, which involves performance optimization, bug fixing, and scalability.

  • Continuous Learning and Industry Best Practices: Stay ahead by constantly evolving ways of working, understanding emerging technologies, and integrating best practices into our processes.

  • Alignment with Product Strategy: Comprehend our product vision to propose and implement solutions that drive its realization.

  • Stakeholder Management: Maintain close communication with developers and top-level management to ensure decisions align with the product and company objectives.

  • Innovation & R&D: Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies (e.g. AI/machine learning) to introduce innovative solutions that enhance development efficiency and game quality.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of technical/engineering experience in gaming (or adjacent sectors) including 4 years of technical leadership experience.

  • Experience developing an SDK with layers including analytics, attribution, remote config, monetization event standardization, and crash reporting.

  • In-depth knowledge of game development methodologies and tools.

  • Expertise in C# and Unity.

  • Deep familiarity with all technical aspects of game development, from client-side to server/backend tech stacks.

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to anticipate and mitigate risks.

  • Flexibility to adapt to various interlocutors and situations.

  • Fluency in English.
